Outriders: Receives Day 1 Patch and Post-Launch Update

day, Outriders, patch, PostLaunch, receives, update

With Outriders, a new co-op shooter from People Can Fly will be released tomorrow, Thursday. Not surprisingly: there is a Day 1 patch and specific information on further updates is already available.

We are eagerly waiting for Outriders, as the very successful demo made a good impression overall. However, there were also some approaches for improvements, some of which the developers have already implemented and imported as demo updates.

These will not have been the last patches, because it has now been confirmed that a Day 1 patch awaits you. If at all possible, it should be available on time for the release, although the developers admit that it could only be imported shortly after the release.

Patch notes for the Day 1 patch are already available:

  • Many bug fixes and improvements, with a particular focus on the latter sections of the game.

  • Performance improvements for pacing/stuttering that was observed during the demo

  • Camera Smoothing improvements for cutscenes and dialogues. This should reduce the camera shake that some players are struggling with

  • Cutscenes/dialogues frame rate improvements

    • PC cutscenes will have the option to choose from 30, 60, 90 and 120fps

    • Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 cutscenes will be locked to 60fps

    • Xbox One and PlayStation 4 cutscenes will remain locked to 30fps

Another update for the time after the release is already in the works and should appear in the first few weeks after the game is released. There are also preliminary patch notes for this, which show that the developers have apparently taken the feedback from the beta to heart:

  • Controller adjustment options such as deadzone adjustment, acceleration settings and legacy layouts.

  • Loading Time Improvements for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles

  • Further Performance Improvements for Co-op games

  • Crossplay friends list and invite system across all platforms. This will require you to be using a Square Enix Members account.

  • Bug fixes including, for example:
