If you’re still playing Overwatch 2 in the hopes that it can somehow recreate the glory of Overwatch 1, you may have noticed that most events and collaborations these days are centered around skins rather than actual playable content. Regardless, the collaboration with My Hero Academia is coming on October 17.
The news was announced at Xbox’s TGS 2024 conference, where many interesting contents were revealed, such as the “Final Fantasy Pixel Remastered” series will be launched on the game console, and the single-player parts of “StarCraft Remastered” and “StarCraft 2” will be launched on Game Pass.

The collaboration also coincides with World of Warcraft’s 20th anniversary celebration, which adds four new World of Warcraft skins to the game. These skins start at 1900 OW coins each, which is equivalent to $19. You can also buy all four skins and some extra skins for 5700 coins, which means you get the 5000 (+700 extra skins) option for $50. Activision Blizzard has used this strategy with Overwatch 2, Diablo 4, and Call of Duty so far, and it works well, but it doesn’t make me feel any more sick.
While the price has yet to be confirmed, you should expect similar pricing to the My Hero Academia collaboration. You can watch the very brief announcement trailer below:
To summarize, the included skins are as follows:
- Deku Midoriya – Tracer
- Ochaco Uraraka (Uravity) – Juno
- All Might – Reinhardt
- Tomura Shigaraki – Death
- Toga Hikoko – Kiriko
My Hero Academia (manga) concluded last month, but that doesn’t mean the series will end anytime soon, especially with Netflix working on a live-action movie.
The story of My Hero Academia revolves around Izuku Midoriya, a boy born without superpowers in a world where superpowers are common. He still dreams of becoming a superhero himself and is spotted by the world’s greatest hero, All Might, who shares his superpowers with him after recognizing his value. After that encounter, All Might enrolls Izuku in a prestigious high school for superhero training, but things get more complicated.
