The recently officially released Overwatch 2 will have more offspring later this year: With Ramattra, another tank class is coming!
The next hero to make the Overwatch 2 roster is Ramattra; Blizzard Entertainment has officially announced this. The Omnic activist may be no stranger to fans of the long-running action brand, having appeared at Archi’s Storm Rising event more than three years ago. On the occasion of the Overwatch League Grand Finals on Friday, Blizzard officially announced the new hero as a tank character for December.
Ramattra is supposed to be officially available on December 6th – just in time for the start of the second season in Overwatch 2. He will be the eleventh tank character in the game and is said to bring a unique game mechanic with him: Ramattra can take two forms, namely his standard one Omnic form and a second form named Nemesis, which is based on the Hulk.
While in his normal form he uses a staff to launch projectiles that can erect a protective barrier for his team, as Nemesis he becomes a gigantic fighter with powerful melee attacks – just like the real Marvel Hulk. The mutation also makes Ramattra one of the tallest heroes in the game from a standard-sized hero.
Incidentally, Blizzard Entertainment hasn’t delved too deeply into the new character’s skill set; to date, the focus has been more on the background story of the new protagonist, so that there is also a trailer that you can watch below.
Like Kiriko before it, Ramattra will be rolled out with the Battle Pass in Overwatch 2. Those who purchase the premium version will get instant access to the hero, other players will need to level up the free version of the Battle Pass to unlock it.
