Twenty years after working at Blizzard, Michael Chu, the lead author of Overwatch, announced that he was leaving the company.
Zhu Chu Ming has also worked as a writer in Diablo III and World of Warcraft.
According to a post on his personal blog, he plans to continue working in the gaming industry where he will continue to tell stories and "build a world that unites people through games" (thanks to Gamasutra).
"Twenty years ago, when I first walked into the door of Blizzard Entertainment, my only dream was to help make a game that spent countless hours in my life."
"From the battle between the Azeroth races in Warcraft to the human corruption caused by the pawns of eternal conflict in Diablo, I am lucky to tell the stories of these amazing universes and help them come to life. And I am very Fortunate to be able to meet and interact with the passionate global community that plays our games. "
In his blog post, Chu also discusses how Overwatch became a "life-changing experience" and his impression of the "compassion on others" story "about people who are different from them."
"Now when I last entered Blizzard's gates, I had a new dream: to continue telling these stories and build a world that unites people through games. To help create an inclusive world, let more people hope Share stories that reflect our own experiences. I hope this is something we can build together. "
Chu is also responsible for the forthcoming Overwatch 2.
