Despite the ongoing development of Overwatch 2, Blizzard Entertainment remains true to itself and continues to stick to the usual schedule for the in-game events in the first part. Accordingly, the Lunar New Year will be celebrated again in 2020.

Blizzard has launched the annual Lunar New Year event in the still successful online action game Overwatch. This time it runs from January 16 to February 6, 2020 and brings fresh game content with it again.
The event will of course focus on new skins that you can get for the different characters. Seven skins are completely new, three of them are epic and can be unlocked by simply playing the title. To do this, you always have to make nine games a week. The weekly schedule basically looks like this:
- Week 1: Monk Doomfist
- Week 2: Ancient Chinese Bronze Winston
- Week 3: Papercutting Wrecking Ball
You can also purchase the following four legendary skins via loot boxes or by purchasing through in-game credits:
- Opera Brigitte
- Face changer Sombra
- Mask dancer Moira
- Samul Nori Lucio
In addition to the skins, there are of course new sprays and other cosmetic in-game items. There is also a reasonably new game mode, namely Capture the Flag Blitz. This is a modified version of the traditional capture-the-flag mode, in which the flags are much closer together than in standard mode. That is why teams also need six collared flags instead of the usual three.
