This year again, Blizzard Entertainment is organizing the summer games in the long-running Overwatch. We’ll tell you here how the event is set up this time.
Year after year, Blizzard Entertainment hosts a number of seasonal events in the online action game Overwatch. These are essentially structured in the same way, so they always return in a similar form. This also applies to the summer games, which are now starting in the 2021 edition on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Switch.
Thanks to cross-play, you can take part in the summer games across all platforms. It started yesterday, July 20th, the event period now runs until August 10th. Specifically, you can throw yourself back into the Lucioball game mode as well as Lucioball: Remix. Those who take part can also secure new cosmetic extras.
As a new way to earn rewards, the following has been integrated:
- Players can play 9/18/27 games in Quick Find, Arcade, or Leaderboard to earn rewards.
- Wins count as two games played.
The new cosmetic extras as part of the event include:
- Legendary skins:
- Streusel for Mei
- Mermaid for Symmetra
- Pool girl for Ashe
- Scuba for Sigma
- Orisa referee
- Epic Skins:
- Week 1: King of the Sea for Winston
- Week 2: evening sun for Pharah
- Week 3: Nihon for Hanzo
