Blizzard has released a new video in which Jeff Kaplan, Lead Designer of Overwatch, comment on the updates and changes at a competitive level that will arrive in the game in June. Thus, Kaplan explains that some characters will receive changes, some more substantial than others. As for the healers, the character of Ana will heal a little less while Mercy will greatly increase her healing —What has been a buff or buff– go. On the other hand, Zenyatta's Orb of Discord increases its potency from 25% to 30% and Moira, Bastion and Junkrat will also receive some changes, but Kaplan has not detailed what they are.
Another point Kaplan talks about is the competitive open queue in Arcade mode, which will disappear soon and has very different user responses. For example, in Korea it is the second most played mode while in the United States it is less popular than the Mysterious Heroes mode. Thus, Kaplan explains that the competitive open tail will disappear for a while to work and make some changes to it. Once this is done, will be available again sometime in June.
Subsequently, in July and with the start of season 23, competitive open queue will become an official competitive mode, sharing space with the current competitive classic that is divided by roles – 2 tanks, 2 supports and 2 damage. So, the competitive open queue will no longer be in Arcade mode and will be part of the Competitive exclusively.
