Although it was only released last Friday, Palworld already has a VR mod that allows you to experience the “Pokemon with Guns” game up close.
Palworld quickly became so popular that within days it became the second most popular paid game on Steam. Much of this success can be attributed to the fact that it answered the question “What if Pokemon had guns, and it was a survival game?” But even with this popularity, it’s a bit surprising that there’s already a mod that lets you play the game in VR. The mod in question, simply called UEVR, comes from praydog and is technically a universal VR mod that can be applied to any game built with Unreal Engine, just like Palworld.
Now, as you can see in Paradise Decay’s video (thanks to PCGamesN), the VR features are a bit bare-bones, mostly only allowing for a first-person VR perspective. It’s up to you to set the correct angle, as you can move the position of the VR camera so it’s at the right height. In terms of controls, you can use your usual controllers regardless of your brand loyalty, or map the buttons to any VR controller you might own. Looking at the footage above, it seems to work pretty well, and if you’re playing seated you can still look around with the right analog stick.

Palworld launched into early access last week, and as mentioned, it quickly became a huge success – within three days, over 5 million copies had been sold, and when you consider that it’s on Xbox Game Pass , which is really impressive. Kelsey saw in Palworld’s Early Access review that they were interested in the game and looked forward to playing it with friends, but ultimately “feeled dissatisfied with the lack of originality it often felt like. Feeling disappointed.”
