With Palworld, the Pocketpair studio released one of the big surprise hits of the year at the beginning of 2024. The “Pokémon with guns” is still very popular and of course they want to continue to capitalize on this success.
In order to further expand the Palworld brand, an interesting joint venture has now been founded. Sony Music Entertainment Japan, Aniplex and Pocketpair are joining forces to open up new markets and expand existing ones even further.

In concrete terms, this means that new marketing efforts are being made, which of course also include merchandise. The first products will be available at Bilibili World 2024 in Shanghai, where they will be presented and sold at the Pocketpair booth. You can also pre-order them on the Aniplex, Aniplex of America and Aniplex Shanghai websites.
Further details on Palworld merchandise are to follow, as are the next steps in strengthening the brand. If we rub the crystal ball a little, an anime series based on Pokémon seems quite likely. If we speculate wildly, there could even be a real trading card game, after all, this field is currently enjoying huge popularity.
Aside from this good news, the merger of Sony and Pocketpair could also mean that Palworld will finally find its way to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. There have already been plenty of rumors about this, but the title is currently only available on PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
Palworld enjoyed huge popularity, especially in early 2024. The title had over 2 million simultaneous players on Steam, a massive record. These numbers have since dropped, but the last update brought them back up again and lured 140,000 fans back to the servers.
