Gaming News Palworld on PS5 one day? There’s news about the Xbox/PC exclusive available on Game Pass
The video game phenomenon Palworld is currently only playable on Xbox and PC. Some players are asking for a PlayStation 5 version and the developers at Pocketpair have an official answer.
Should we have a Poké?
We’d tell you it came out of nowhere, but that would be reinventing history. Whether or not you heard about it before its early access release, Palworld is now making headlines on trade sites. Often compared to a “Pokémon with weapons“, this survival game always attracts crowds. As we speak, more than 5 million players have spent their money to buy a version of the game in just three days! If Palworld had been talked about before its early access release, no one would have expected such success. This is one of the first surprises of 2024.
However, be careful if you’re looking for an RPG with turn-based creature combat. Palworld is primarily a survival game with a multiplayer component, similar to titles like Rust or Valheim. This mix of survival, action and breeding is pretty interesting at the moment and is also fun in co-op mode. There’s also a hint of Grounded, Slime Rancher, Minecraft… yes, that’s a lot of big names! But name-dropping is not innocent. Palworld looks like a jumble of mechanics from more or less similar games, all of which have had some recent success.
Sony excluded from the party
Given this success, we can say that Microsoft was smart enough to bet on the software of this Japanese studio. Palworld is actually an exclusive game for Xbox consoles and available on Game Pass at the time of writing
Will Palworld be available on PS5? We don’t have anything planned yet, but we’ll take it into account during development! Pair of bags

It should be noted that the studio’s previous game, Craftopia, was never released on Sony consoles. The fact that it is still in early access may be one explanation for this notable absence. If you want to learn more about Palworld, read our first review of the game here. To put it briefly: We think that Pocketpair’s software has great potential, but still has everything to prove. It remains to be seen whether the hype will continue…
