The current hype title Palworld continues to advance unabated. The number of players in one category now even surpasses the previous record of Counter-Strike 2.
For developer PocketPair, Palworld, which is controversial due to allegations of plagiarism, continues to go through the roof. The success story that began a few days ago with the start of early access continues unabated. The title, which is strongly reminiscent of Pokémon with its creatures, has seen incredible growth in player numbers and even surpasses Counter-Strike 2 in one category.
Palworld has once again set a new user record – like every new day since the release. At its peak, a whopping 1,864,421 gamers played the survival title and supposed Pokémon clone at the same time in the last 24 hours. Palworld remains the most played game on Steam at the moment, but with this new all-time peak it has even surpassed a real top title and guarantee of success.
What is meant in this case is Counter-Strike 2, which builds on the immense long-term success of Counter-Strike and Global Offensive and regularly captivates an incredible number of players. However, within just a few days, Palworld has now set a higher all-time record for simultaneous players than the popular Counter-Strike 2. Its highest number of players is 1,818,773 simultaneous gamers.
In this category, Palworld now moves up to second place with its new all-time high, only behind PUBG: Battlegrounds. However, it will be difficult to surpass the battle royale hit, as it set its previous user record at 3,257,248 gamers – a significantly higher value. Nevertheless: Palworld’s success story continues unbroken – despite all the criticism.
Keyword criticism: Despite the accusations of plagiarism, especially from the loyal Pokémon community, who have already identified the similarities between different Pokémon and Pals, The Pokémon Company and Game Freak have not taken any legal action or even issued a statement. However, a Pokémon mod for Palworld was already hinted at yesterday, January 22nd – and Nintendo wasn’t kidding at all.
The modification would have brought real Pokémon into the game in addition to the Pals and thus obviously violated copyrights. Nintendo consequently took rapid action against the YouTuber ToastedShoes and had the relevant material blocked immediately.
