“Pokemon Guns” Game friend world Sales quickly increased, although as the game grew in popularity, it also faced accusations of plagiarism.

Late last night, the official Palworld Twitter account shared that the new creature collector had sold 3 million copies within 40 hours of release, a number that’s obviously impressive, especially when you consider that it’s available for purchase on Game Pass hour. This is also up from the 1 million copies sold within 8 hours of release, so clearly the concept of giving Pokémon a gun is a hit. It’s also proven popular on Steam, as it’s now the sixth most played game on the store based on historical concurrent players, beating out the likes of Elden Ring and Baldur’s Gate 3.

This popularity was not without controversy, however, as the game’s release was also met with accusations of plagiarism. If you take a quick look at the game, it’s easy to say that Palworld takes a page from Pokemon, as it has a creature-collecting element where you can throw balls at said creatures to capture them. For the most part, the gameplay similarities seem to end there, as it’s more of a survival game than an RPG like Pokemon, but there are a few creatures that many people online have pointed out How similar the designs are.

One user shared a comparison between Palworld and Pokemon creature designs, and yes, some of the designs are strikingly similar, right down to the use of color palettes. While you can’t entirely blame anyone for noticing the similarities, there’s no way to prove whether developer Pocketpair directly copied any of the designs. Pocketpair’s last game, Craftopia, also apparently drew inspiration from another Nintendo game, Breath of the Wild, and its upcoming game, Never Grave, apparently looks like a game featuring a special Hollow Knight. game.

If you want to see for yourself whether Palworld has copied Pokemon, it’s available now on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, and can be played via Game Pass.
