Path of Exile promises better rewards

Exile, path, promises, rewards

The biggest problems of the delirium league in PoE are now a thing of the past. The biggest problems of the delirium league in PoE are now a thing of the past.

The developers of Path of Exile recently faced a strong headwind: many players were dissatisfied with the mechanics of the delirium league, one-shot kills and backtracking got on the nerves of many players.

Even a developer manifesto released shortly afterwards was not well received by the PoE fans – the fans sometimes felt misunderstood and called for further improvements.

Now Grinding Gear Games reacts again and finally brings some changes to the players, which are now actually mostly received positively.

These improvements are coming

Community manager Bex published another blog entry on the night of March 20, 2020 to show the players what the developers are currently working on.

In the coming days, all of these changes should be available on the live servers:

  • Shorter touch debuffs (already live)
  • Less monster damage and fewer exploding enemies (already live)
  • Old content with delirium: When league mechanics are triggered from old leagues, they pause the delirium encounter timer until it has been completed or canceled. This applies specifically to the mechanics from Abyss, Breach, Betrayal, Blight, Incursion and Legion. For many more league mechanics, another update should come. The change has also been live since today.
  • Better visibility: The delirium encounters should be a little more colorful. The color reduction is weakened and delirium monsters are color-coded so that they can be recognized more quickly. The changes should appear next week.
  • Performance problems: The developers were able to find two problems – one has already been fixed, the other will be fixed in the coming days.

From now on: Better loot in delirium

The supposedly most important change, however, is that Grinding Gear Games significantly improves the rewards of delirium encounters.

Here's how it works: While we are killing monsters in the fog, a reward indicator fills up on the edge of the screen, which has so far often thrown relatively useless objects such as weapons or armor.

With the changes, rewarding rewards should now appear significantly more often. If we are fast enough, we can also unlock additional reward bars: If we fill in the first bar three times, a second one appears. If the first bar has been filled five times, a third appears.

In the future we can get more than one reward per encounter in delirium. In the future we can get more than one reward per encounter in delirium.

Many problems that spoiled the fun of the new league for the players should now be solved. Only the annoying backtracking, which according to the GGG should not be remedied by dropping loot, should still bother many players.
