During a livestream, Grinding Gear Games announced “Settlers of Kalguur”, the next expansion for the long-running action RPG Path of Exile, coming in July.
Fans of the long-running hit title Path of Exile can look forward to the next expansion. During the livestream “GGG Live” it was announced under the name “Settlers of Kalguur”. The corresponding update to game version 3.25 is scheduled to be released in the current month of July.
The launch is scheduled to take place on July 26th at 10:00 p.m. This is when the Settlers of Kalguur Challenge League, balance improvements, additions to the campaign, and many quality-of-life improvements will be introduced into the game.
In the new Challenge League, you’ll help the Kalguur pioneers build the city of Kingsmarch and establish trade between Wraeclast and their homeland. You can mine exotic resources, hire and protect skilled workers to build and defend the city, build a port, boost trade, and more. You can also craft and recombine powerful weapons and items at the Runesmithing Table.
As for the Ascendancy classes, you can expect the new Warden class and the Gladiator rework. Warden replaces the Huntress class and focuses on elemental attacks, damage control, and specializing in tinctures. The Gladiator, meanwhile, gets redesigned skills, including one that allows you to deal devastating damage.
The balance changes affect melee skills, add new base types to the endgame, and also improved modifiers on endgame items. Weapon critical strike chances have also been improved. Endgame content has been addressed with changes to many scarabs, a sixth map device slot, new encounters in Tier 16 and Tier 17 maps, updates to Brand and Ritual, and much more. There will also be a number of new chisel types and a massive increase to the drop rate of Valdos Puzzle Chests.
Last but not least, the console version was optimized for the current PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, so that loading times and the popping up of textures were significantly reduced. The highest possible resolution of the textures and water effects, a new upscaling algorithm and an additional anti-aliasing pass round off the optimization in this area.
