There is no doubt that Pedro Pascal has made a huge qualitative leap in popularity since his appearance in The Last of Us series. The HBO production allowed us to see how Naughty Dog’s story with Joel and Ellie became a realitybut a few years earlier the actor participated in a film with very similar overtones.
And the premise of Prospect is about a father and daughter who must survive in extreme conditions. Released in 2018, the film is directed and written jointly by Zeek Earl and Chris Caldwell, in what is an adaptation brought to cinemas of a short film that both created in 2014. The result was really good, including its premiere on Netflix, reaching a 6.3 on IMDb and an excellent 89% on Rotten Tomatoes.
The plot places us between a Damon, played by Jay Duplass, and his teenage daughter Cee, played by Sophie Tatcher, who end up embarking on a very tough space contract. The two must walk through a poisonous forest in the middle of an alien moon to extract some valuable gems, however everything goes wrong for the girl after she meets Ezra, played by Pedro Pascal, who wants to flee the area. There are more people willing to do anything to get their hands on such precious loot and her father begins to be influenced by greedy thoughts.
