Some tech-minded folks are taking apart their Dualsense Edge controllers and comparing the battery to that of a standard Dualsense pad. It’s safe to say that the Edge’s size leaves a lot to be desired.
This all leads to one of the biggest complaints about the Duelsense Edge: battery life. As we noted in our review of the Dualsense Edge, it’s largely positive and praises many aspects of the controller, but the amount of time you can actually use it before the pads get clogged is a major flaw.
Australian controller customizer Twitter user Budd’s Controllers posted images of a deconstructed Dualsense Edge. With the battery exposed, everyone can clearly see how much smaller it is than a typical Duelsense battery.

Obviously with more gadgets and gizmos packed into the Dualsense Edge there’s less and less room for things like a big battery but that doesn’t do much to get rid of the frustrating controller disconnects or the The sting or emotional flick of a low battery notification popping up while idling in CrossFire.
Especially when you consider all the cool new features, like those rear paddles that require more power. You may find yourself charging your Edge more than you want. Again, most people think it’s a great controller, a black mark that belies Sony’s otherwise huge success.
But let us know what you think! Did you pick up a Dualsense Edge and have poor battery life? Is it something that stops you from buying it? Let us know below!
