For JRPG fans, the Persona series is one of the best the genre has to offer. But with Persona 3: Reload, the development studio Atlus is now achieving success that it probably didn’t really expect.
Persona 3: Reload is actually the best sales start ever for Atlus. As the studio proudly announces, a whopping million units of the JRPG were sold in the first week since release. In other words, in less than a week the company was able to bring this impressive number to the player.

Persona 3: Reload was only released on February 2, 2024 on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series
The success of Persona 3: Reload is definitely hard earned, because the developers at Atlus put a lot of love into the new edition. Compared to the original, you can of course look forward to modern technology, the interface has also been revised, there are completely new scenes, updated character interactions and tons of new dubbing recordings.
This effort is not only reflected in pure sales success, the fans are also enthusiastic. On Steam, a whopping 97 percent of the over 5,000 reviews rate the game positively, and on the score aggregator Metacritic there are practically only ratings of over 80 percentage points.
If you’re thinking that Atlus doesn’t have any exciting other brands up its sleeve and this record doesn’t impress you, let’s list a few of the studio’s titles: Shin Megami Tensei, Persona, Tactics Ogre and Catherine. Persona 5 and its Royal variant in particular are among the most important JRPG titles ever.
