Yes, it’s true. Following the news that Concord won’t be around for much longer, a Change.org petition has been launched to re-release the game, arguing that people were too busy to play it around the time of its release last month.
If you’ve been staying isolated, Sony and Firewalk Studios announced on September 4 that Concord would be shut down on September 6 after a poor launch that failed to attract the player base that Sony bosses had hoped for. Players who purchased the game on PS5 and PC before the shutdown will receive a full refund, and these moves have caused a wave of enthusiasm for the game among potential collectors.

Now, it’s also seeping into the ranks of those who remember all the weird stuff that happened around the release of Moebius, a movie that was bad enough to be good, and that I reliably knew was a movie and not just a bunch of jokes. After someone on social media edited the infamous 2022 Change.org petition calling for the movie to be brought back to theaters, there’s now a similar petition calling for The Concord to be brought back to theaters.
“We’ve all been busy that week – please release Concord again” is the title and sole request of the petition, which was started yesterday, September 4, by Twitter user Vora Sumi. “Concord, the hero shooter from Sony Firewalk Studios, will be shut down on September 9th; just three weeks after its release,” they wrote. “I truly believe this game has a chance and should be re-released!!!”
It’s not exactly the cute, witty pitch from the Morbius petition, but they tried anyway, even if they got one pretty important detail wrong on the timeline — the closing date was September 6th, so if anything they underestimated the urgency of the matter, and they must have been trying to make it happen for reasons that don’t include the word “funny.”
As of this writing, the petition has garnered 25 signatures, just 25 short of its current goal of 50. One person left a comment explaining why they support it. “I’m too busy to play Overwatch or watch the latest Guardians of the Galaxy,” wrote a user named John Marstall, who I’m guessing is not some cowboy’s evil twin. “And then I’m too busy to try Concord. I may be busy again, but it’s worth a try.”
I don’t know about you, but I expect the signatures on the Moebius petition to hit 32,000 soon.
This isn’t the only weird thing to happen since the ill-fated hero shooter for PlayStation was announced to be discontinued, with some players killing their characters as quickly as possible at the start of a match in order to earn the Platinum trophy before the game goes dark.
