It is no secret that Xbox and Nintendo maintain a cordial relationship, something that Phil Spencer has always advocated for. Where console wars cease to exist and the biggest brands in the world of video games coexist peacefully. So good has the relationship between the Americans and the Japanese been that we have even been able to see how games from Xbox Game Studios came to Nintendo Switch. Titles like Cuphead and Ori and the Blind Forest have been released on Nintendo Switch, so Nintendo fans are hoping for more Xbox games to hit their platform.
On the other hand, Xbox players ask Phil for a reciprocal relationship and that if Xbox offers games, Nintendo should too. So while Nintendo fans ask for Xbox games, Xbox fans ask for Nintendo games. As a result, Phil Spencer is a little tired of all this and in a recent interview he asks that they please stop asking and asking for these things.
On the IGN Unlocked podcast you collect GamingboltSpencer talked about everything about the upcoming Xbox Series X, but when asked about any another collaboration between Microsoft and Nintendo, seemed to want to finally discard the idea. Although he says the relationship is still "great" with Nintendo, he states that there are no more plans for anything and he seems to want people to stop asking about it by saying he doesn't like how "rumors" about possible Switch ports seem to come up with any new Microsoft-funded titles.

I would rather be able to set more Xbox-level expectations for our fans about where things are going. I thought we had done it with our First Parties when we talked about the games being released on Xbox and PC, and I got some criticism from certain people in certain groups about it, but at least we set ourselves an expectation on that. I'd rather we get to that point on the different pieces of hardware we're on, so I guess I'll just leave it there. ”.

So we can be clear that no matter how good the relationship between Xbox and Nintendo is we can forget to see a Zelda on Xbox or the Master Chief saving the galaxy on Nintendo Switch. Good relationships benefit everyone, but neither do we spend asking for the impossible. For now, Phil Spencer is still committed to launching the next Xbox, the Series X, which is scheduled to launch later this year 2020.
