This is no drill, and it’s no joke. Dota 2 now includes a fighting game mode in the recent Crownfall update. Included in the battle pass are five characters, dedicated move lists for each fighter, alternate skins, frame data, and more. Sure, it’s a little cheap, and not a full-fledged fighting game, but it’s real. And it’s fun, too!
This new addition – called Sleet Fighter, by the way – is a big surprise for the game, and the response has been pretty good! Sure, it’s purely PvE at the moment, but as far as battle pass rewards go, it’s a lot more interesting than new skins or currency. This isn’t the first time Dota 2 has included a mini-mode like this, either. About four years ago, battle pass owners could play a Dota Underlords-style hero battle game.

As for other rewards, Dota 2 players can get some treasures, candy snacks, and can be exchanged for hero sets, couriers, wards, etc. There are also Crownfall coins, and players who collect enough coins can enjoy discounts. All in all, this is a pretty standard battle pass prize selection besides a full-featured fighting game.
Even better, Sleet Fighter is also multiplayer, offering fun additional tournament opportunities for those who can muster enough players to get in on the competitive action. This can be done both online and locally, so all the elements are there for those who want to solve problems on a 2D plane rather than watching from above.
