Nintendo promised fans that we’ll see more of Pikmin 4 at today’s Nintendo Direct, and it wasn’t a joke.Nintendo Direct revealed Pikmin 4 Demo Coming to the Nintendo Switch eShop Friday 30 June There’s also a new trailer alongside.
If you’re not quite sure if Pikmin 4 is for you, you’ll have a full three weeks to try out the demo before the game’s release on July 21. That’s plenty of time to recruit some carrot-like creatures to help you. You on this mysterious planet, the friendly but quirky puppy Ozzy, and the newly discovered Ice Pikmin and Glowing Pikmin for us to recruit! These glowing Pikmins are especially helpful for helping us explore at night, and we can do it right now!
According to a download card that has surfaced in Japan, Pikmin 4 will have some fancy features, including split-screen multiplayer and a house that we can actually explore inside. Not sure if the demo will actually let us test multiplayer or check out the original house, but we’re sure of one thing, we’re about to kick off a grand quest with the help of Pikmin.
The new trailer shows exactly how we’ll be recruiting Pikmin to help us, and how Orchi will help us travel across Earth and take on troublesome creatures. Over time, players will unlock new areas, including the mysterious house we all long to enter, and subterranean areas that hide even more treasure and victims we need to rescue.
As for that green orchie we’ve been talking about, it looks like he’s got into trouble on this planet and stole the castaway we could have saved. But that’s okay, because with the help of Pikmin we’ll be able to rescue them and unlock new features and rewards!
Those keen to try out Pikmin can also play HD versions of Pikmin 1 and 2 on the Nintendo Switch eShop starting today, while we wait for the Pikmin 4 demo to be released next week Version.
