In a first for an online gaming platform, Roblox has teamed up with Warner Bros. to allow you to buy tickets for Beetlejuice 2.
I think it’s safe to say that the main way you buy movie tickets these days is online. It’s safer, quicker, and means you’re guaranteed the seat you want. But have you ever thought “Man, I wish I could make my life a little easier by buying these movie tickets through some kind of video game, maybe online so I can experience a unique game world?” Well, Roblox has a solution for you! Roblox has teamed up with Warner Bros. to make a game that’s definitely not a game, Beetlejuice Escape from Afterlife, we promise, where you can hang out with characters from the movie and, you guessed it, escape from the afterlife.

“When visitors enter Beetlejuice: Escape from the Afterlife on Roblox, they’ll be immediately whisked away to the Hall of the Afterlife — a spooky world that combines familiar locations from the original Beetlejuice film with new scenes and experiences from the highly anticipated sequel,” Roblox shared in a statement. “From the Hall, fans can enter one of three immersive worlds where they’ll need to escape from ghouls and rescue beloved characters like Delia and Lydia, as well as new characters like Astrid. They’ll visit the Waiting Room, see Shrinkers (aka Shrunken Head Guy) and his friends, and even explore Adam’s model of the Winter River in Connecticut on his journey to the rescue.”
Additionally, in the Afterlife lobby, players can “walk up and purchase tickets to see the movie right within the experience,” and those who do so will receive an exclusive “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” avatar item. You must be 13 years of age or older to purchase tickets, but even if you are under 13, you can still experience the experience.
Whether this w orks or not, we’ll have to wait and see, but it does show that there are still a lot of big companies interested in looking into this whole metaverse thing, even if it’s definitely easier to buy a ticket through normal means.
