Flop or not, Babylon’s Fall will get content with seasons 2 and 3 and beyond. PlatinumGames wanted to calm things down while the software rowed to round up players.
Babylon’s Fall was released on March 3rd, but unfortunately for Square Enix, the action RPG failed to move the masses. It’s actually the opposite. But like the failure of Marvel’s Avengers, the new franchise from the creators of Bayonetta 3 will not give up.
Post-Release Content
Whatever happens, PlatinumGames and Square Enix are promising a sequel to Babylon’s Fall. Both parties agree that the “title is not in jeopardy”.
No, there are no plans to scale back development on Babylon’s Fall. Season 2 content is almost complete and we’ve started work on Season 3 and beyond.. We will continue to provide content and make improvements based on player feedback and strive to retain current players and attract new ones. We want to thank all the Sentinels who are already enjoying the world of Babylon’s Fall and look forward to welcoming more in the future.
At least Square Enix and PlatinumGames are not letting go of the players who believed in the project.
Babylon’s fall: a relatively cold reception
If PlatinumGames wants to reassure Babylon’s Fall’s future, it’s because co-op play isn’t at its best. At launch, the title struggled to reach 1,000 active players on Steam and only went under. The software is now struggling to surpass 500 players. Worrying but predictable presence? Before release, the previews weren’t rave reviews, and after the reviews came out, the game ended up earning a Metacritic press rating of 39/100 on PC and 42/100 on PS5. A notation in the red.
In addition to the defects found, the title was stuck between Horizon Forbidden West, Elden Ring or Sifu. Games that were more expected and acclaimed by critics and players from the start.
