Sometimes in life you just get lucky. Whether that was really the case with a Reddit user has just caused a lot of discussion on the platform. We would therefore like to know from you whether you believe his story or not – but first things first.
The whole thing was triggered by a post about a complete PC with Nvidia’s very fast Geforce RTX 3080, which is said to have been sold on Facebook as defective. According to the buyer, a Core i5 10400F is used as the CPU, the main memory is 16 GB and the SSD is 512 GB. The post has since been commented on almost 1,200 times.
The creator claims to have gotten the PC for $400. According to his own statements, during subsequent tests he found out that the 24-pin cable from the power supply unit was the problem and that he could make the computer work again by replacing it.

What is causing the discussions?
A lot of commenters don’t believe the story because they can’t imagine anyone actually selling a full PC with a working Geforce RTX 3080 for $400, which alone is roughly double that.
The buyer states that it is a complete PC that was purchased from NZXT over a year ago and was no longer covered by the warranty. At a local store, the seller was offered $300, who then asked for $500 on Facebook. According to the buyer, he was able to negotiate the offer down to $400 because there was no information as to where exactly the problem could lie.

In addition to many doubters, there are also some voices that can well imagine that the article is the truth. They say, for example, that some people would view a PC as a single object and not as a collection of individual components that can be defective and functional independently of one another.
In the course of the discussion, however, a follow-up article was created that makes fun of the original post – and which is sometimes believed to be true. This post has now received over 400 comments.

But everyone should agree on one point: You have to be extremely lucky to get a Geforce RTX 3080 for $400, let alone a complete PC with the GPU. Because even if the prices for graphics cards have been falling for months, an RTX 3080 should initially be around the RRP of 759 dollars at the latest.
