Destiny 2 could be a big bang if you believe exciting fan theories. As Polygon has put together, the community of Bungies Loot-Shooter is particularly popular with the idea that Saturn's moon Titan could be completely destroyed.

In addition, a glitch found tells of one possible destruction of the tower, the headquarters of the guards. It is currently not possible to confirm whether this is actually a story twist for the new season or a leftover in the code.

We explain what the threatening scenarios are all about.

Why Titan could disappear

It is already certain that changes for Destiny 2 will come soon: The current 10th season ends on June 9, season 11 starts at the same time. Nothing is known about the content yet, but what could developer Bungie plan?

A tiny detail on a planet emblem in Destiny 2 now gives fans on Reddit reason to kind of Titan expiration date to believe. The following screenshot shows the emblem, which is provided with a "Limited Time" sticker:

Why this is strange: The "Limited Time" symbols in Destiny 2 usually hang on items that are only available and playable within the framework of an event or season.

This is something that of course does not apply to entire planets unless they disappear. The fan theory that the Titan could fall victim to a cataclystic event is based on this detail. Of course, provided that the sticker is not just a bug.

Destiny 2 needs to shrink to grow: As Polygon goes on to say, Bungie had said in the past that Destiny 2 could not "grow infinitely" in terms of the amount of data in the game. The hard disks of consoles are already groaning with more than 100 GB of data.

Bungie may not have to make room until they want to add something big, like another planet, to the game. Of course, this fueled the rumor mill, especially given the ominous limited-time symbol for the Titan.

Why the tower could be destroyed

But that's not all of the doom mood in Destiny 2: Another indication of a catastrophic event can also be found on Reddit. So players managed to get through a glitch in a version of the player hub "Der Turm" (English Tower) that was obviously badly damaged.

You can see screenshots of the broken tower here:

Does "omnipotence" crash? The player suspects that omnipotence – a giant alien cabal battleship that poses a major threat in Season 10 – could fall on the last city and damage the tower.

This scenario is not so far-fetched: For example, with the help of the war spirit Rasputin, the Guardians could shoot down omnipotence, whereupon debris could rain down on the tower.

Everything is possible, nothing is neccesary: This is not a confirmation that one of the events described actually occurs in Destiny 2. It could just be errors or leftover code. But the theories are always exciting.

Time will tell what will actually happen. We certainly know more about the start of the 11th season in Destiny 2 on June 9th. In the extra article you can read about Destiny 3 and what Bungie is up to with Part 2.
