One step closer to cow level?
A year ago, shortly after the game’s release, players came across the mysterious Ring of MisfortuneThe theory was that it could only be found through certain actions in the game. After a long search and countless experiments, the method has now finally been discovered.
The players discovered that a lucky coin is the key to the ring of misfortune.
As Reddit user sowhatsthecatch explainstwo factors play a role if you want to find them:
- You must have a
Shrine of Greed
-Buff active. - A lucky hit chance of 50 percent or more should also improve the drop rate.
According to the player, the coins can then only be looted from clickable dead corpses in the game world, which otherwise rarely yield worthwhile loot.
But the search didn’t end there. Their search eventually led the players to a well in Scosglen. Here, five characters from different classes had to throw coins into the well at the same time in order to receive the coveted ring and the title of “Well Friend.”

Although the ring itself is not particularly powerful, the discovery is being celebrated by the community. Reddit is full of congratulations and admiration for the researchers’ persistence.
Whether the ring has something to do with the secret cow level is only speculation so far.
But many are hoping that this discovery could be the next step. One user, for example, suspects that the number 13 could be a clue, as the ring increases various stats by 13 – and suggests slaughtering 13 cows while wearing the ring.
It is uncertain whether this legendary level actually exists. What is certain, however, is that the developers do not plan to make it easier for players to find it.
Perhaps the upcoming expansion Vessel of Hatred, which will be released in October, will provide new clues. Until then, the Diablo community will continue to search tirelessly.
