Players of the long-running battle royale on a PS4 Pro or Xbox One X can look forward to a new technology mode that has l ong been desired. Shortly before the release of the next-gen consoles
Anyone who has bought a PS4 Pro or an Xbox One X places increased emphasis on performance and high-resolution graphics in the console area. Of course, this also applies to gamers from PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds who have long wanted a certain technology mode – and shortly before the release of the next-gen consoles, they will finally be heard.
In the future, PUBG players on PS4 Pro and Xbox One X can finally benefit from a higher frame rate. This was always locked to 30 fps on the more powerful current-gen consoles.
With the first patch in Season 9, that finally changes – at least for the time being on the test servers for PS4 and Xbox One. The change log reads there largely in accordance with the PC patch notes, i.e. there is also the new Paramo card. However, there is a crucial addition: With the new frame rate priority option, you can now play the title on PS4 Pro and Xbox One at 60 fps
To do this, you have to be content with a lower resolution, because this is reduced to 1080p. For many more ambitious gamers, however, this should be bearable. However, the 60 fps are not guaranteed constantly, so that you have to expect some smaller drops in the frame rate here and there.
PUBG Corp. also wants to explore ways to bring such a technology mode to the base models of PS4 and Xbox One. It is not yet known to what extent the resolution has to be lowered here.
