Sony can hardly complain that the PS4 is not successful, even if there is still a Sony console, of which more copies are in circulation. The numbers are impressive.

The analyst Daniel Ahmad from Niko Partners has recently taken the numbers of the PlayStation 4 to his chest and opened up some interesting values. According to current figures, the PlayStation 4 has meanwhile sold 110.4 million copies worldwide, even if the annual sales figures are slowly but surely falling. However, the PS4 still remains behind Sony's top seller, namely the PS2.
Overall, the PS4 secures 4th place in the list of the best-selling consoles. Third place goes to the Game Boy / Game Boy Color with 118.69 million. The second place is the Nintendo DS with 154.02 million and the PS2 with 155 million is just at the top.
Lifetime sell in for the PlayStati on 4 is now 110.4 million.
Sony shipped 13.6 million units in FY2019 / 20, down from 17.8m in the prior year.

In the past fiscal year, which ended on March 31, 13.6 million fewer were sold than in the previous year (17.8 million). Over the same period, 245 million units of software were sold, a slight decrease to 257.7 million in the previous year. Digital sales have surpassed physical sales for the first time. 51 percent of sales were made digitally, as much as 66 percent in the last quarter, which can be explained by the initial restrictions caused by the Corona crisis in the period.
The PlayStation Plus online service also made good progress. The number of subscribers rose from 36.4 million to 41.5 million by March 31, 2020.
