The ability to use the console controller on a PC is on the wish list of not a few players. In the case of Steam and Sony’s DualSense Controller, this becomes possible, but there is a catch.
If something has succeeded with the PS5, it is above all the new gamepad. The haptic feedback and adaptive triggers of the DualSense controller are well received by the players. Of course, this definitely arouses the desire to be able to use the gamepad on the PC.
In the case of Steam, this does not seem to be a problem, based on the current ones Beta-Client patchnotes. It is explicitly mentioned here that the DualSense controller is supported. However, there is a catch, because haptic feedback and the adaptive triggers and trackpad are apparently not supported for the time being.
Thus, the DualSense controller can be used as a pure gamepad, but you will have to do without all the great features for the time being. It remains to be seen whether and in what form something will happen, or whether the game developers will have to intervene with their titles themselves.
