In recent weeks there have been increasing rumors about the new DualShock 5 of the next-gen console PS5 from Sony. Now, for the first time, clearer images of the controller have apparently been leaked onto the Internet.
Microsoft has already presented the design of the Xbox Series X, but Sony still lacks official pictures and information about the PlayStation 5, even if this could now follow at the CES 2020 in Las Vegas. Regardless of this, the first footage of the DualShock 5 has now appeared on the net.
A developer has released some photos via Reddit of the well-known and leaked DevKit of the next-gen home console – and you can also see the DualShock 5, although not as clearly as we might have wished. The rumors so far seem to be largely confirmed.
Accordingly, the DualShock 5 will actually be very clearly based on the well-known DualShock 4 of the PS4 and will only be given minor changes. The touchpad is therefore somewhat angular and still takes up a large area on the controller; So there is hardly any space for option and share buttons.
In view of the fact that the design actually seems to correspond to the previous speculations, you can probably be a bit more certain that the triggers on the top of the controller will actually be a bit larger, even if you don't see it explicitly in the pictures. Sony had previously confirmed further improvements under the hood such as haptic feedback.
