PlayStation 5: Has a new sci-fi shooter been leaked?

Another exclusive title could be coming to the PlayStation 5 that could make the hearts of shooter fans beat faster. This is now suggested by a new leak, which cannot be conclusively verified at the moment.

In the battle of the consoles, the manufacturers regularly bring up their own exclusive titles. Sony is also certainly working on a number of new first-party games in secret – and one of them may now have been leaked.

Both a screenshot and a five-second video for a previously unannounced title that is said to be a new sci-fi brand from Sony PlayStation have now surfaced online. While there is no official confirmation to date, the leak comes from a source that has already leaked details about the roguelite shooter Returnal before the official announcement; nevertheless, the current rumor should be treated with caution.

While the five-second video has since been removed from the web, the said image is still floating around and can be seen in the following tweet, among other things. Adding the video, you can see a futuristic soldier pointing a gun at what appears to be a giant alien creature.

The accompanying post to the leaked footage also states that the game is said to be from British Sony developer XDev. The title is also based on Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 5. The material shown is still not overly opulent because it is said to come from “a very early version”. Incidentally, the leaker promises that this should only be the first of further leaks about the sci-fi shooter.

The rumor cannot be verified at this time, so you should take it with a grain of salt; there is currently no official statement. Of course we will keep you informed about the possible sci-fi project for the PS5!
