Basically, there is already an umbrella organization for Sony's own development studios, which are responsible for the first-party titles. However, a flowerpot cannot be won with the name Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios. Therefore, Sony has now come up with a new brand that comes with the catchy, original name PlayStation Studios. Similar to the Microsoft Game Studios of the dear competition.
The logo should now be seen on upcoming productions from studios such as Naughty Dog, Polyphony Digital, Insomniac Games or Sucker Punch. The accompanying animation sequence with some scenes from games from these studios will soon be available in various versions, probably from autumn, in games, trailers or advertising clips.
However, the new brand will not be exclusive to the Sony consoles. Titles on other platforms will also sail under this flag, but not the PC version of Horizon: Zero Dawn, for which the whole thing is running out of time.
