Microsoft surpr isingly used the stage of The Game Awards 2019 in December to show the design of the Xbox Series X and to officially introduce the next-gen console. The PS5 is also officially in the making, but Sony did not yet have a look at the final design. That could change in the coming days.
So far, it was assumed that Sony would probably show the platform extensively in spring, but at the latest at E3 2020 in June, now there is much to suggest that the beginning of January could be nailed with regard to the appearance of the PS5.
Sony is at the big electronics fair CES 2020 in Las Vegas and has now announced its own press conference. This is not unusual in that Sony usually also shows new TVs there. However, this year's CES is officially for Sony under the motto "The future is coming" – and what should this phrase fit better in the end than to the completely new future console generation?
The announcement of the conference is garnished with the words: "At CES 2020, Sony will unveil a unique vision of the future that brings creativity and technology together like never before to release new sensations and emotions."
If the current speculations are confirmed, Sony may be able to present the PS5 in the USA on January 6th at 5:00 p.m. local time. Due to the time difference, it will already be 7 January at 02:00 in the morning. The press conference can on the official website via livestream be followed.
