Last year Sony caused a bang when the E3 was simply omitted in Los Angeles in June. What about 2020 in this regard?

When Sony dropped E3 2019 last year, it made a statement that it does not have to be a permanent fact and that it was partly due to the fact that there was simply not enough material to show. However, according to a new report, it does not look particularly good that Sony will return to the important industry fair in the USA in 2020.
The company has not yet made any official statements, but colleagues from VGC are now reporting, citing sources close to Sony, that it is extremely doubtful that Sony will be honored at E3 2020 in Los Angeles. Although the PlayStation 5 will be released in autumn, Sony is not expected to be there in June – despite the fact that before 2019, everyone was present at E3 every year.
This fact is not set in stone yet, but the well-known video game analyst Michael Pachter from Wedbush Securities also says that, according to his sources, Sony will not be at E3 2020. "As far as I know, they don't plan to attend," said Pachter. "I think that's a big mistake because their 'focus on end customers' doesn't conflict with participating in the game industry's most important trade show. I hope they change their minds, but I'm skeptical."
If the current speculations prove to be true, then Sony should continue to rely on its own events such as the PlayStation Experience this year to present new content. The PS5 will also be formally shown at a separate event early this year. Rumors recently said a possible announcement in February.
