Sony is on the advance with its PlayStation 5 and has now cracked the next sales milestone.
Apart from delivery bottlenecks, Sony should be quite satisfied with the performance of its PlayStation 5 so far. The current console has now cracked the next sales milestone.
The company has now announced that it would be able to sell more than 10 million copies of the PlayStation 5 by July 18, 2021. If you can’t easily classify this value: The PS5 is thus the fastest-selling PlayStation of all time and in this respect surpasses the PS4, which took longer to crack the 10 million mark after its original release.
In the same breath, Sony also confirmed some game sales. Spider-Man: Miles Morales was sold more than 6.5 million times, the PS5 exclusive game Returnal brings it to 560,000 sales and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart went over 1.1 million times over the counter.
“While the PS5 is reaching more homes faster than any of our previous consoles, we still have a lot of work to do as the demand for the PS5 continues to outpace supply,” said Sony CEO Jim Ryan. Although one is currently still confronted with “unique challenges”, it is Sony ‘s top priority to ensure further improvement here.
