A new version of the system software for PlayStation 5 consoles is being rolled out worldwide today and brings with it various new features and functions.
It’s that time again. Sony gives the Playstation 5 a juicy update of the system software. There are some features that fans have been waiting for for a long time. Most importantly, the update finally enables 1440p HDMI output, which wasn’t available before. Also, you can now compare 3D audio and stereo audio on the same screen and more easily access ongoing activities from game hubs.
In addition, playlists can be created and a variety of social features have been added, including the ability to request a screen share from a party member, easily view profiles of new friends, and a new notification to help jump from party chat to the game friends to participate.
Furthermore, new functions for the PS app have also been added. A PS Remote Play session can be started via the PS app and, like the console, a screen share can be requested from a party member in order to watch the game live from the app.
The new update will be rolled out worldwide today and should be available for download later today.
