PlayStation has just strengthened its ranks in the utmost discretion, but that worries some gamers. For good reason, a particular studio might be in danger.
PlayStation is like Xbox, it’s the buyout specialist. The best example we can think of is the developer studio Bungie. The company recently acquired Audeze, a brand specializing in audio and gaming headsets. In short, she tries to be there on all fronts. However, this time it is not an acquisition, but rather a fairly significant recruitment. However, it has raised some concerns in the community.
PlayStation is offering the services of a former Call of Duty producer
More specifically, Sony has officially recruited Jason Blundell, a former producer of Call of Duty and former employee of the Deviation Games studio. This is where eyebrows started to rise. In fact, this company would normally design a AAA for the PlayStation 5. Therefore, it had to respond to Sony. There is nothing unusual on this point. After all, the company was founded by veterans of the Activision franchise. That’s what caught the attention of some players who expected to be dealing with a shooter. However, not everything seems to have gone as planned.
In fact, Deviation Games, whose ranks included Blundell, had signed a partnership deal with Sony to work on AAA for the PlayStation 5. But obviously nothing came of it and the former producer left the studio he co-founded. Then rumors emerged that the famous PS5 exclusivity had been abandoned. After all these events, users noticed this significant reset from the Japanese giant.
However, a question arises that worries some: Did Sony recruit all of Deviation Games’ members? Has the PS5 project been restarted or will it definitely not see the light of day? Was this one of the PlayStation service games that were reportedly canceled? It’s impossible to know at the moment, but we do know that they are currently working on something that hasn’t been announced yet. A AAA perhaps? We can’t wait to find out what it is, but it certainly won’t happen anytime soon.
