It seems like for a long time, rumors and reports have pointed to Sony holding some kind of event before the fake E3. Everyone seems to agree that it will take place in May.
However, as time went on, the likelihood of this happening kept decreasing. Well, not anymore! Sony confirmed today that the next PlayStation Current That actually happened this month.

As just revealed by the PlayStation Blog, May’s PlayStation State of Play event is scheduled to take place tomorrow, May 30. The event is expected to last just over 30 minutes, with a start time of 3pm PT / 6pm ET / 11pm BST.
PlayStation said it would update “14 PS5 and PS VR2 games, including PlayStation Studios titles coming later this year,” but did not provide more specific information.

Things have been quiet on the PlayStation front for a while now, in part due to the company not having any major upcoming releases. Sony confirmed earlier this year that it would not be releasing any major exclusive games until at least March 2025. Despite the PS5 reportedly outselling the Xbox by a wide margin, the platform holder revealed in its latest earnings report that it had missed sales targets, noting that sales of the console would continue to decline further.
Although it has not been officially confirmed, Sony Do There’s a major hardware announcement coming up in 2024 – the PS5 Pro, of course. This upgraded console has been leaked in so many different ways that we’re surprised the company hasn’t said a word about it yet. Supposedly, it’ll launch this holiday season, but given Sony’s (and the AAA gaming industry’s entire) low production numbers in 2024, it’ll be interesting to see how it justifies its existence.
