Gaming News PlayStation Plus: A wished-for Insomniac franchise (Spider-Man, Ratchet & Clank) would finally be back!
Little by little, the PlayStation Plus is releasing more and more titles that it will integrate into its catalogue. Today it is a franchise whose origin is Insomniac Games, which deals with a very special episode.
Grandpa fights back
Insomniac Games is one of the most emblematic studios of Sony and of video games as such: we owe it to sagas like Spyro, Ratchet & Clank and now Marvel’s Spider-Man, whose sequel is in the works. But with the advent of the PlayStation 3, the company was called upon to build yet another franchise, more mature, more violent, and with a certain halo to follow: Resistance.
Three major PS3 works have been developed by the Californian studio, while two third-party spin-offs have been hatched for the PSP and PlayStation Vita. Today, We learn that one of them could return in a remastered version through the new PlayStation Plus offering.
Resistance Retaliation in PS Plus?
We might have expected the main games to be included in PlayStation Plus Premium – maybe they will – but today, it’s about Resistance Retribution, which has just been listed by the Korean Classification Board. As everyone knows, this type of action portends a commercialization or, in the case that interests us, an almost certain appearance in the PS Plus Premium Classics series, which includes many PSOne and PSP games.
As a reminder, Resistance Retribution is a bit of an episode in itself: like thisrti in 2009 on PSP, it was not FPS and was developed by Bend Studio, after the siphon filter (or more recently Days Gone). The console lacked a right joystick, was aided by slightly different gameplay, but this re-release would suddenly the ability to review gameplay, make some graphical fixes and add trophies: Remember that the action took place in Paris and as usual we were at war with the Chimeras in a dystopian military world.
Many gamers were hoping for Resistance to return with a brand new game: unfortunately, the multiplayer project the designers are currently working on will appear to be a brand new franchise… but ports are sometimes a good way to take the temperature with live audiences . to one or the other license. We’ll see and until then we’re already waiting for the official release of Resistance Retribution in PS Plus.
