Sony announced the free essential games on PS Plus in December and also had a PS2 surprise in store.
Just before the end of November, Sony announced its essential line-up for PlayStation Plus in the new month of December. As usual, all members of the online service receive three full versions as part of their subscription, which can be purchased in the new week from December 3rd. Until then, you can still get the free PS Plus games in November if you haven't already done so.
It starts in December It Takes Two for PS4 and PS5. The title is a co-op platformer in which you can play both on the couch and online in co-op mode. With a friend pass you can even invite friends to discover the game world with you for free. There you take on the roles of Cody and May, an estranged married couple who were transformed into dolls by a spell. Together they are trapped in a fantastic world in which they are forced to work together to save their relationship.
If you want a little more thrill, you will find it in the second title for PS4 and PS5, namely Aliens: Dark Descent. It is a real-time combat strategy game spin-off from the well-known Aliens brand in which you lead a team of experienced marines to take on a terrible xenomorph outbreak on the moon Lethe. You can also expect new horror creatures within the Aliens series, open levels and more.
The essential line-up is rounded off by Temtem for the PS5. As a Temtem tamer, you can move through the six islands of the Airborne Archipelago, discover new species and experience epic adventures. You have to catch Temtems and ultimately defeat the annoying Clan Belsoto. Whoever defeats all eight dojo masters will also become the ultimate Temtem tamer.
All three titles will be available from December 3, 2024 to January 6, 2025, when the first new essential line-up of the new year starts.
Sony also has more surprises in store for December with today's announcement: Premium members of PS Plus can also play a test version of PS Plus from December 3rd Warhammer 40.000: Space Marine 2 gamble. In addition, the premium level already offers three real PS2 classics as an additional surprise for gaming. From December 10th – in celebration of PlayStation's 30th anniversary – Sly 2: Band of Thieves, Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves and Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy on top.
