Subscribers to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium will now receive one of the best PlayStation games of all time as part of their subscription. The surprising new addition was announced at PlayStation State of Play this week.
Sony always announces the new additions to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium in the middle of the month, so September was already there and October is still a long time coming. All the more surprising was the announcement at the PlayStation State of Play last week that you would soon be able to get one of the best games ever for the platform – and now the time has come!
Of course, this means the PS5 remake The Last of Us: Part I from Naughty Dog. This is now available via the Sony games subscription and you can get started as a subscriber at no additional cost. Of course, this is not only possible on the Extra level, but also with PlayStation Plus Premium.
With the new addition, Sony is celebrating The Last of Us Day, because September 26th is the day in the game when the deadly fungus breaks out in the post-apocalyptic franchise and more or less destroys humanity. The remake for the PS5, which has now been released as a subscription, significantly improves the graphics of the title originally published for the PS3 and also uses other platform-specific features such as the adaptive triggers and haptic feedback of the DualSense controllers.
By the way: Sony also confirmed at the State of Play that two absolute PlayStation classics, Dino Crisis and Legacy of Kain, will be available on PlayStation Plus Premium later this year. For now, you can jump into The Last of Us: Part I.
