Actually, the PlayStation Store for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita should be taken offline soon. But now Sony has changed its mind.
At the end of March it was said that the PlayStation Store for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita will come to an end in the coming summer. But today Sony took back this decision. This means that titles such as Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception (picture) or the PSP offshoot Uncharted: Golden Abyss will also be available in the respective store in the future. The function of purchasing additional content within a game is also retained.
Sony justified this turnaround with “further considerations”. In doing so, they came to believe that they had made a mistake. The starting point for this thought process should have been the feedback from the players: According to Sony, many of them would have spoken out in favor of the permanent availability of digital offers on the PS3 and PS Vita.
There is a definite end to purchases on the PlayStation Portable: On July 2nd, both the store and the option to buy content from a game will be switched off.
