Sony wants to release the new VR headset PlayStation VR 2 next spring – and they have big plans. In any case, the production of the hardware is running at full speed.
Sony has big plans for the launch of the new virtual reality headset PlayStation VR 2. At least that’s what emerges from a new report by the usually well-informed Bloomberg magazine.
Sources familiar with Sony’s plans have confirmed to the magazine that the Japanese publisher aims to release a whopping two million PSVR 2 headsets by March 2023. Production for this already started in September 2022.
According to the report, Sony has no problems with hardware bottlenecks in this regard and has been able to produce the new PSVR 2 as planned so far. Noisy Bloomberg This also indicates that Sony wants to invest heavily in the VR gaming sector.
Even compared to the first PlayStation VR, the plans are apparently much more ambitious. The original for the PS4 was sold over two million times within a year – so many copies are now planned directly for the PSVR 2 launch. However, there is still no specific date or price.
