PlayStation’s most important game and most forgotten game this year are PS5 Pro upgrades. Those games are, of course, Helldivers 2 and Rise of the Ronin, both of which have announced that they are developing enhanced versions. These are two more great reasons to save up for the new and improved PS5.
The news about Hellraiser 2 came from the Hellraiser 2 Discord, where community manager Twinbeard revealed the secret. When a community member asked if there would be a PS5 Pro version, they said there would be differences between the Pro and base versions of Helldivers 2 (as you might hope). Not just a confirmation, but a tease of information to come.
As for Rise of Ronin, its PS5 Pro version was released in a more official way. Team Ninja announced the Pro version on Twitter, saying it will feature improved visuals and frame rates in the hot new iteration of the game. The studio even gave us a 12-second gameplay clip to show off the game, albeit on Twitter’s video player.

As more and more games move to PS5 Pro, it becomes increasingly difficult to resist the temptation to buy one. Note that this console is still very expensive, which remains a major barrier to buying one for many people. Then again, with the PlayStation 30th Anniversary Edition console selling out within minutes of pre-orders opening, perhaps time will prove that Sony’s choice of price for the console was a wise one.
