With the Poco X5 and the X5 Pro, the Xiaomi subsidiary Poco is launching two inexpensive 5G cell phones with AMOLED screens. Where do they differ? Our comparison reveals it.
The mobile phone manufacturer Poco, which belongs to Xiaomi, is known for mobile phones in the middle and lower price segment. But here, too, there is now a model in different variants to buy. The new Poco X5 is not on the market alone, but has a Pro version in tow for which you have to dig a little deeper into your pocket.

But how do these differ from the basic model? Below we show you all the differences between Poco X5 and X5 Pro.
Display
Both versions of the X5 have an AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hertz and a screen diagonal of 6.67 inches. There are differences in brightness. The Pro version only achieves a maximum brightness of 900 nits, while the basic model has 1,200 nits. Only the Pro model offers 10-bit color depth.
Performance
The Pro designation is also justified in terms of performance. The Poco X5 Pro is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset, which was released in May 2021. The processor has eight cores and clocks from 1.8 to 2.4 GHz. The Snapdragon 695 in the Poco X5 is a bit newer, but it only has a clock speed of 1.7 to 2.2 GHz. The chipset is supported by 6 or 8 gigabytes of LPDDR4X RAM, which should easily be enough for most current apps.
Camera
Although both models have a triple camera setup, there are clear differences here too. The X5 has a 48-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The X5 Pro, on the other hand, is a bit better for photography with a 108-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel macro sensor.
In addition to better photos, you can also make videos with 4K resolution with the Pro version, while the normal Poco X5 only comes to 1080p. In addition, the front camera of the X5 Pro has a resolution of 16 megapixels, which is 3 megapixels higher than that of the cheaper version.
battery pack
Both smartphones offer a 5,000 mAh battery and should easily get you through the day. The X5 will probably last a little longer here, since the extras of the X5 Pro naturally require more power. The Pro model can be charged with 67 watts, while you have to be satisfied with 33 watts with the normal device.
Colors
While the Pro model is typically available in black, blue and yellow, the Poco X5 is available in green, blue and black.
Prices and Availability
The two smartphones were released in Germany on February 6 and can be bought and ordered from Amazon and Co. If you prefer the direct route, you can also order the smartphones from Xiaomi. The following prices are called for the models

network world means
In terms of price, both models have quite a bit to offer and are among the most affordable 5G smartphones on the market to date. Nevertheless, the Pro has some advantages in terms of features and hardware. If the above advantages are important to you, you should spend a little more money and opt for the X5 Pro. If you’re just looking for a solid phone for little money, then the X5 is for you.
