The Pokemon Company and Netflix will collaborate on a stop-motion animated series, among other unannounced projects.
At today’s Pokemon Presents, a new series based on the world of Pokemon was announced called The Pokemon Concierge. Produced by Dwarf Studios, known for its other Netflix series Rilakkuma and Kaoru, the entire show will feature stop-motion animation. A very short trailer was shown during The Present, showing a baby Psyduck waddling on the beach. Not much, but the little things it does show so far look pretty darn cute!
Introduced by Netflix’s VP of Content, Minyoung Kim, the show follows the titular concierge, a young woman named Haru, and her experiences with various Pokemon who come to visit her at the Pokemon Resort. There isn’t much else to say about the show, and we don’t have a release date yet, so keep an eye out for more info.
Of course, Pokemon Presents has plenty of other news from the Pokemon world to share. For starters, after nearly four years of waiting, Pokémon Sleep is finally back, and it’s actually coming sometime this year. Unsurprisingly, the app is designed to track your sleep schedule, and you’ll be able to encounter various Pokemon based on your sleep type.
You won’t be surprised to hear that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet also have some DLC. The DLC is divided into two parts, collectively titled Hidden Treasures of Sector Zero. The first part, The Teal Mask, will be released sometime in the fall, and it will take you on a school trip to a new region, and the second part, The Indigo Disk, will see you as an exchange student, hopefully more focused on combat than the first part.
