The mobile game Pokémon GO has presented its news for next May with the Challenge Return, which is intended to honor the more than 20-year history of the Pokémon franchise. From Friday, May 1 to Friday, May 29, players will be able to access the Temporary Investigation of the Return Challenge. These lines of Temporary Investigation will appear in the Today view and will have a series of temporary tasks that can be accessed until a specific date. Each line of research will consist of eight series of three tasks.
This Return Challenge will have different themed tasks about the regions of the Pokémon world. They will be inspired by the adventures of previous Pokémon games, with the appearance of wild creatures from each of the regions. The regions will be Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh. If all four series are completed, the special investigation of the 2020 Return Challenge Championship, in which Rare Candies will be won, reward encounters with Genesect, Meowth de Galar and Stunfisk de Galar, Professor Willow's glasses as an exclusive item for the avatar, and some other reward. Tasks can be completed individually.
All dates of the 2020 Return Challenge
- Kanto Temporary Investigation: From Friday, May 1 at 1:00 p.m. until Friday, May 8 at 1:00 p.m. (local time).
- Johto's Temporary Investigation: From Friday, May 8 at 1:00 p.m. until Friday, May 15 at 1:00 p.m. (local time).
- Hoenn's Temporary Investigation: From Friday, May 15 at 1:00 p.m. until Friday, May 22 at 1:00 p.m. (local time).
- Sinnoh Temporary Investigation: From Friday, May 22 at 1:00 p.m. until Friday, May 29 at 1:00 p.m. (local time).
- Special Investigation Return Challenge Championship 2020: From Wednesday, June 3 at 1:00 p.m. until Monday, June 8 at 1:00 p.m. (local time).
It will be during the 2020 Return Challenge Championship when players can find Galar's Stunfisk in the wild, on forays, and as a reward encounter for special research. Likewise, the following Pokémon will also arrive in the game for the first time and will appear when hatching 7 km Eggs along with their usual shapes: Meowth de Galar, Zigzagoon de Galar, Darumaka de Galar and Stunfisk de Galar. You will also be able to evolve to Meowth of Galar, Zigzagoon of Galar and Darumaka of Galar to your evolutions of Galar.
With this Challenge, Pokémon GO players will have reasons to access the title on a weekly basis, given the large number of rewards offered for completing tasks. In addition, remote forays were recently implemented due to the situation we are experiencing today with the Coronavirus, which forces us to be confined at home.
