this Pokémon Go The Festival of Colors is back again this year, along with some brand new Pokemon.
Returning once again as a global event, the Festival of Colors will begin next week on March 8th at 10am and run until Tuesday March 14th at 8pm local time. The event is aimed at ushering in the colorful season of spring, with the debut of two new Pokémon. Probably the less exciting of the two is Bruxish, an incredibly colorful, if a bit garish, fish Pokémon. Even more exciting is the introduction of Mega Medicham, and if you’re lucky, you can apparently catch the shiny version!
In an updated post discussing the upcoming event, it’s also noted that you should keep an eye out for PokeStops when you’re near them, as you might spot some celebratory colors. Of course, there are also event benefits this time. During the event, the lure model activated lasts for three hours, and the speed of friendship level increase is doubled. You should also take a few snaps per day during the day – you might come across a shiny Smeargle.
There’s also a collection challenge to complete, but it doesn’t detail what you’ll have to do. However, you’ll be rewarded with 20,000 XP and a decoy module. In terms of wild encounters, you can expect to see Para, Krabby, Koffing, Natu, Wobbuffet, Shuckle, Wingull, all three Burmys, Stunky, and Bruxish, all but the last two, all of which are likely to shine. If you’re particularly lucky, you might come across a Lickiting or Galarian Zigzagoon, which can also be shiny.
For an interstellar raid, find Espurr, Rockruff, Mareanie, and Bruxish. Three Star Raids will feature Exeggutor, Alolan Exeggutor, Cryogonal, and Drudigon. The five-star raid will feature the legendary Ho-Oh. In Mega Raids, you’ll find the new addition to the game, Mega Medicham.
There are also some field research quests to complete, which allow you to get an Oricorio, which will look different depending on which part of the world you’re from, and a new color-throwing pose has been added as an avatar item.
