Niantic Labs Announces Changes to Mega Evolutions Pokemon Go.
Currently living in Australia and New Zealand, the changes to Mega Evolutions will make things easier and more rewarding.
With the update, Mega Raids won’t need as many people to take down Pokemon, and you’ll be able to Mega Evolve your Pokemon from the Raid and battle prep screens without having to do it in advance.
The Pokemon you previously owned Mega Evolved will now have additional visuals added to their info page, and Mega Levels are being implemented to change how Mega Energy is used.
With Mega Levels, every time you Mega Evolve a Pokemon, it will try to increase its Mega Level. You get more rewards each time your Pokemon’s super level rises, and the rewards stay active when your friends are super-evolved.
Each super level grants various rewards, which vary from Pokemon to Pokemon, and all rewards increase as the super level progresses.
Existing rewards include increased candy when you catch a Pokemon of the same type as your Super Evolved Pokemon, and when attacking with a Super Evolved Pokemon in team or gym battles, other trainer’s Pokemon challenge the same Attacks from the raid or gym do more damage. Their Pokemon’s attacks will also do more damage if the attack is the same type as your Super Evolved Pokemon.
New rewards include an increased chance of earning Candy XL when you catch Pokemon of the same type as your Super Evolved Pokemon. This will be for those who are about to reach level 40 or above, as Candy XL is required to level up your Pokemon beyond level 40.
Other new rewards include increased experience points for catching Pokemon of the same type as your Super Evolved Pokemon, and your Pokemon’s rest time will decrease as its Super Level increases.
Another change is the one-time cost of Mega Evolve. With this update, after you Super Evolve a Pokemon for the first time, you will be able to Super Evolve again without using Super Powers.
After super evolution, your Pokemon will be very tired and need to rest before super evolution. Once your Pokemon rests, it can super-evolve again without using super powers. You can also use Super Power to reduce the Pokémon’s rest time, and the Super Power required for Super Evolution will decrease as the Pokémon’s rest time is shorter.
