Legendary Pokémon Rayquaza Returns Pokémon Go end of February. At last.
Ultra Ancient Pokémon will appear in five-star raids from February 22nd to March 1st, and will know the charge attack break.
The folks at Niantic must have heard my repeated pleas for Pokémon to return. I’m super excited and will accept any raid invites I receive featuring dragon/flying types. I’d better start saving my PokeCoins because I figured I’d need to buy more than just some ranged raid passes. Good luck and let me catch a shiny one.
Rayquaza isn’t all you’re expecting next month. During this time, Latias and Latios will appear in Mega Raids.
And, there’s more. Pokemon Go Tour: Hoenn – Worldwide It’s taking place over the weekend of February 25-26, so it’s also worth looking forward to.
You can participate in a special study with Rhi from the Go Ultra Recon Squad. Rhi is studying Hoenn folklore about the red and blue spheres, which are said to be related to Raw Kyoka and Original Gulardo.
Ruby vs. Sapphire challenges will be offered and you will need to choose a side. The team you choose will shape some head-to-head Pokémon encounters, so choose your side well. Each hour, you complete special field research on behalf of your team. All players will see an increase in Primal Raids for either Primal Kyogre (Sapphire) or Primal Groudon (Ruby), depending on which team has completed more field research — plus an increased chance of encountering more wild Pokemon.
When teams compete in Ruby vs. Sapphire Challenges, certain additional Pokémon will appear in the wild based on hourly results. Complete fieldwork on behalf of your team to increase your chances of encountering these Pokémon such as Sapphire’s Illumise, Wailmer and others, Ruby’s Volbeat, Trapinch and more.
The five interstellar raids during this period will feature Deoxys in attack, defense, normal, and speed forms, and they may even have sparkles.
Pikachu will also appear in the wild wearing Brendan’s hat and May’s bow.
Depending on the habitat, various Pokémon will appear in the wild. Eggs will contain a new batch of mobs, with 10km eggs containing Torkoal, Tropius, or Relicanth – I need those.
There will be a new Masterwork Research quest called Wish Granted that will give you a chance to meet Shiny Jirachi. Tickets will be available in the in-game store for $4.99 from February 20th to March 20th.
Pokemon Storage and Item Bag Capacity increases will also be available through the in-game store. The maximum capacity of storage and items will be increased by 250.
You can look forward to new feature music inspired by Ruby and Sapphire by Junichi Masuda, composer of the Pokemon video game series and lead creative researcher at The Pokemon Company.
If you plan to take the Go Tour: Hoenn live in Las Vegas, you will have more chances to meet shiny people. Attending the live event on February 18-19 will allow you to participate in a special research story where you’ll team up with Team Go Rocket and gain access to some exclusive timed research.
Finally, the in-person event also lets you skip the step of meeting Shiny Jirachi.
